Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001
Russia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Russian entry was selected internally by the Russian broadcaster Russian Public Television (ORT). ==Internal selection==
In April 2001, ORT announced that it had selected the band Mumiy Troll to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. ORT claimed that over 2000 performers applied for the selection with a jury panel ultimately making the decision to send Mumiy Troll and the song "Lady Alpine Blue" to the contest.
